N°06 Caballo Loco N° 6
A compilation of vintages from 1992 to 2001

Caballo Loco N° 6

Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Pinot Noir.

Origin

Caballo Loco No. 6—a blend of vintages spanning 1992 to 2001 and bottled in 2002—is a composition of nine vintages; it builds upon Edition No. 5 by incorporating the 2000 and 2001 harvests. Its production was delayed because, despite the historic quality of the 2000 vintage, only a few wines proved suitable; consequently, the 2001 harvest—characterized by moderate-to-low yields but exceptional quality—was awaited to complete the blend. It comprises Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Pinot Noir sourced from Colchagua, Curicó, and Maule (Central Valley Designation of Origin). It displays a reddish-orange brick hue and 14.0% alcohol content. Aged for 36 months in French and American oak barrels (25% new); 36,000 bottles produced.

Vinification

Harvested and destemmed, fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts. Maceration time 15 days.
